For all kinds of reasons and in all stages of life, adults find themselves wanting to grow and develop their skills. Perhaps they wish they had completed high school, and now have the desire to earn a GED that will open more opportunities to them. Maybe they completed high school, but really haven’t developed the reading, writing or math skills they wished they had. Or maybe, they have job possibilities that are just outside of their reach, but with a little help they could land that dream position.

The Racine Literacy Council is here to help. The Adult Basic Education program listens to the dreams of its students and then assesses what support might help those dreams materialize. Students who enroll are tested and then placed into a learning group that matches their skills. With small groups and individualized help, students work to achieve their goals
