English Language Learners
English Language Learners make up the largest group of students at Racine Literacy Council. Some of our students are refugees of war and political strike who have sought safety in our community and need English skills to work, live and raise their family. Others are students who have established some roots here and now have the time to devote to learning the language because it will open greater opportunities.
Our ELL program serves students whose native countries include:
Afghanistan, Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Honduras, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Russia and Ukraine.
